It is with immense pleasure that we introduce the first instalment of ADUJ, an annual cultural and literary fest organized by the National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam. ADUJ 2017 will be a three day cultural and literary extravaganza that would strive to unfurl the splendorous talents from all around the country. Beyond the fun and festivities, every year ADUJ will serve as a catalyst for raising awareness about a particular social issue.
This year, to bring this idea into praxis, ADUJ’17 has chosen to give its platform to voices raising awareness for child rights. Many of the events in the fest will especially be focused on a particular aspect of rights of children, providing the participants with an opportunity to contribute to the cause through their talents. ADUJ strives to serve an additional purpose of promoting and exhibiting the enormously rich and diverse cultural heritage of The North East.

I am glad to learn that the National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam has been planning to organize and celebrate ADUJ University Festival -the first of its kind in the University. I have been briefed that the Festival would encourage and showcase different and varied cultures of the states of North-East apart from others. This is a welcome step by the University for its progress, in general and for a Nation building with a strong and better inter –state as well as inter –racial bonding, in particular.
Wide participation from all corners would definitely be an added encouragement for all concerned, especially to the National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam. Hope the Festival would carry more laurels to the University. I wish the Festival a great success.
Mr. Justice Ajit Singh,
Chief Justice, Gauhati high Court.
National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam, is building its broad perspective of study of law in India with the awareness of distortions and engage in reorienting the legality on the basis of undistorted Indian experiences. As every university is identified by its unique features, NLUJAA will, in the course of its journey, be identified as a centre of legality for the Northeast at its core and Nationalism at its rim and Globalism at its cosmic level.
To realise these dreams of the University, the students have embarked on an unique cultural meet (ADUJ) from the current year to represent the versatile cultural identity of the North-East.
As the university has set his foot in organising ‘ADUJ’ University Festival I call upon all the members of NLUJAA family in particular, people of Assam and of the country as a whole to provide inputs in attaining these dreams and make this young institution a national pride. This university will be a landmark in projecting the beauty of North-east India to the rest of the world.
I wish this event a great success in the field of cultural and literary events that it plans to depict. I would feel immense pride when our students leave our portals someday and walk into the world, they would cherish every drop of water that had been poured into developing the university to grow it into a beautiful and strong tree.
